thinking about getting a chrome towel rail rad for the bathroom-and doing the pipework change/fitting the valves, etc myself. just one thing though-how do i find out the kw rating of my old rad!! as i don't want to get a new one with less rating! any hints??!
thanks-i know it sound simple!! just that towel rads are different sizes and give their kw ratings and mine being so old i don't have the original instructions with it to tell what it is!!!!
As stated by waterworks you can measure the existing rad and find a new rad to obtain the BTU/KW otput of the old one. Things to bear in mind are, Is your old rad single or double? Does it have convector fins on the back or in between? Measure the hight and width of your existing rad and go and do some matching. Oh one other thing. There is a possibility your old rad could be imperial (measured in inches). as modern radiators are measured in metric you will have to choose the next size up. Example. If your rad is say 970mm wide you would go looking for a 1000mm rad.
