Putting the boards on myself

Hi all,

I'm in the process of getting my house renovated, however overall cost is likely to be quite high, so I am looking to save anywhere possible.

House is a normal 3 bed semi, looking to get all rooms plastered.

I'm thinking of put the plaster boards up on the ceiling and on any stud wall myself to save on cost and leaving the rest for the professionals. Any idea how much savings could approx be made by doing this.

In my experience not that much.
Ask the plasterer about the difference and see if it would save fitting the plasterboard yourself.
Factor in delivery or the hassle of collecting the plasterboard.

Thanks Johnny for the quick response.

I will ask the plasters for quotes first for the full job and then ask how much less it would be if I were to do the above and see the difference and calculate what you said to see if it is worth it.

Any other recommends you could advise me on in regards to plasterting to save some money.

Ask for the quote with plasterboard already there, then after, ask for full quote.
