I've never put up PB before but it's a small (8ft x 6ft) back bedroom so I'm going to try to do it myself. I'd just like to know if there's anything I need to look out for. The roof slopes up from the eaves and I'm putting up PB with a 40mm insulation backing.
Just screw to wood or dot and dab. I have props that can adjust to hold the board up. It may be a small room, but they are the worst! No room to move! Are you using handy boards?
Take it you are plastering.
Thanks Beefpot. I'm not sure what you mean by handy boards. I'm using 12.5mm PB with 40mm insulation attached to it. I'll be getting a pro in to do the plastering.
Over boarding the ceiling yes, just nail to secure......but dot and dab, really? What if the ceiling can't hold the weight? You are relying on the old plaster to handle the extra weight and defy gravity?
Thanks for everyone's contributions. I'm intending to use long screws rather than nails and I'm going to try and make some props, as I'm working alone.
