I've never put up PB before but it's a small (8ft x 6ft) back bedroom so I'm going to try to do it myself. I'd just like to know if there's anything I need to look out for. The roof slopes up from the eaves and I'm putting up PB with a 40mm insulation backing.

Just screw to wood or dot and dab. I have props that can adjust to hold the board up. It may be a small room, but they are the worst! No room to move! Are you using handy boards?

They're smaller sized plasterboards aren't they? Though don't think you can get insulated plasterboard in 'handy sizes'.
Over boarding the ceiling yes, just nail to secure......but dot and dab, really? What if the ceiling can't hold the weight? You are relying on the old plaster to handle the extra weight and defy gravity?

Yep, my bad. You can dot&dab a wall with two securing screws but not the ceiling. And the props I suggested are extension support rod's
