Morning,
I'm going to re-floor our bathroom, by putting down marine ply over the (very old) floorboards, then putting vinyl tiles over the ply. Can anyone recommend the product I should use for smoothing over any gaps in the ply, including little dips left by recessed screws? I believe the product I need is a "micro coat" of some kind. Anyone know any actual brand names? Can't seem to find anything on the internet other than huge buckets of something called StopGap 500 which is way too much (and too expensive) for this little job.
I've also got a question about whether or not to tile under the loo and sink which I'll put in a separate post.
Thanks.

Have you brought the marine ply ? If not go for 6mm Wbp plywood it is alot cheaper and will be absolutely fine for a bathroom. I would use nickel or coated screws no longer then 20mm long as you don't want to hit any pipes! Remember to leave 10mm gap around all the edging. You need to screw down ply every 15cm as well will help stop any movement. For the gaps use a levelling compound or ardex feather finish. Good luck!

Thanks Jay. Haven't bought any ply yet so will go for the WPB. As for the Ardex stuff - again it only seems to come in large amounts for upwards of £30. It's not a large room, so was hoping not to spend that much.. But maybe it's worth it?

If you go onto screwfix website they do no nonsense pro 50 levelling compound for £13.99. You may get it even cheaper at b&q . I think the screwfix one has a measurement marker on the side of the bucket so it's nice and simple to use. Then just give it a light sand after if needed. If you need any more info feel free to ask :)
