I am going to reskim my ceiling and half the ceiling is painted matt, well adhered with decent key, the other half is plasterboard. The poses a challenge as I'm dealing with two different substrates.
I hate doing ceilings and want to buy as much time as possible. I am thinking about doing a 5:1 water: pva, wait 1 hour for it to dry and then do a 3:1 and skim when tacky. Having read online however, it appears that the 5:1 should be applied 24 hours before the 3:1. Does anyone have any guidance on this issue ?
