Hi

I recently had patio doors fitted but want to add extra security to them and was looking at push locks.

Can you tell me if push locks can be fitted to the plastic frames, if not then what other options do I have other than the normal lock thats already fitted?

thanks in advance.

Yes you can fit them if you like.

TBH I'm not sure (as no one has bothered to ask me before) but if its a new door it should be pretty secure as long as it wasn't fitted by cowboys.

I know the old patio doors could be lifted out but designs have changed quite a bit over the recent years. You could ask your fitter for a data sheet on security (they should be able to get this from the manufacturer).
Every thing has to be CE marked and have British Standard codes nowadays. And I'm sure we would be getting a lot of grief from insurance company's if we were all fitting insecure doors.

thanks Gazman.

The doors have anti lift things in the rails and has a multipoint lock down the side but I just thought id stick the push on locks if I could.

thanks again
