Can anyone confirm the max current you can draw from the 12v aux power connectors for wired bells, internal sounders etc please - not sure if 250ma or 500ma (not counting the power consumed by the unit itself) Thanks!

Thanks for this. I was hoping to reuse my Pyronix vocaliser with my wifi enabled enforcer so I have a back up alert system using the pstn. I am already using a delta bell x in scb mode and an internal sounder so will be drawing about 170ma in alarm as it is. If i used a separate psu for the vocaliser it would somehow need to be floated across the enforcer power unit I presume (how??) so that the -ve trigger from the panel activates the vocaliser. I was thinking of adding an 8 channel relay oem in the future so wonder if I could use the same psu for both? What is and who makes an intellegent psu?

One final thought - if & when I fit an output module do I need to use special cable for the 4 wire bus and what would be the maximum distance it could be fitted away from the enforcer?..... so many questions!

I was probably only going for the smaller 8 relay Pyronix oem which I believe will need a separate psu with battery back up. As far as powering and triggering the vocaliser - are you saying that if I use a separate psu then it will trigger ok as long as the negatives from the panel and the external psu are commoned up? I cant get my head round that - at the moment the vocaliser is triggered by a -ve trigger??

IMG_1783.PNG Why you can't just google it is beyond me ....lol
Up to 1000m

Google is very useful but imo there's no substitute for experience - although I'm still not convinced that vocaliser will trigger!

Link ONLY the two NEGATIVEs 12v between the Vocaliser and the seperate PSU.

Have a look at elmdene.co.uk for your PSU requirements.

99.9%, if not all alarms are triggered by a Neg signal, we still common up the Negs.

Sorry - more questions (but I have used google!) So, I've now got an external 12v psu for the vocaliser and an oem8r8t module. Before I power up I'm looking for reassurance that I'm correct - for the oem wiring : on the 485 bus "in" I will have the d1,d3 & d4 from the 485 bus from the Enforcer panel and then connect the 12v psu to d1 and d2 on the oem bus "in" also ?? If that is correct and I then connect the vocaliser +ve & -ve direct to the external psu will I still need to common the -ve from the vocaliser to the com terminal in the Enforcer panel or will it pick it up through the d1 terminal on the 485 bus from the oem ? - if that works then I've got oem programming to look forward to - not found a lot on that yet!

Yes ,but no need to common up as the bus line includes the 0v anyway , just leave out the +
What psu have you got ? Does it have battery back up ?

PSU is a 3amp Elmdene with a 7Ah battery back up. I'm hoping to use the oem for a bit of home automation if I can suss out the programming. Thanks for your help.

.....and it all works! Out on interest, on the Enforcer display panel there is the letter "c" after the time - does anyone know what that is there for please?
