i I have an 1800 cottage that I am renovating and with the recent hike in fuel costs I am trying to insulate where I can. Above the wooden cladding is some fairly rough plaster , not in good condition. I was going to plaster over it but then thought about dot and dabbing q board to it and plastering over that . This gives me a bit of thermal insulation as well as a neat surface to plaster on. Has any one used Q board or similar in such a situation and are there any builders who would recommend this . Thanks Martin

Probably better asking a moderator to move this to the building section.

can’t see why not, are you removing the timber, or just doing the top ?
Orher adhesive solutions are available and probably more suitable.
