Hi,
I have a Quartz Classic Smart Digital Shower in my bathroom. I have the exposed version, the exact same one as shown below. For 14 years I have had no issues with this. The only thing that I have changed is two years ago I had the newest digital controller installed in my bathroom. Again no issues with this. Recently water has started leaking heavily where the shower hose and the outlet value point on the controller meet. So I turned off the water supply as the water coming out was a lot, the first thing I did was inspect the hose and the rubber washers. It all looked fine so I nevertheless brought a new hose just to test it. Once water supply was turned on again water pouring out heavily from the hose and controller end. The next step I put PTFE tape on the male threads of the value outlet on the controller where you screw in the hose. Again same issue. I am struggling to ascertain where else the water is coming from. There is only one other area I noted just below the controller (behind), there is a cut out hole with a screw in there. I have never seen this before and not sure what this relates to. Possibly this could be the source of leak but I have never seen this before or know what it is. I did a google search, I read somewhere about a pressure relief device but this doesn't appear to be that that I can see and on Aqualisa website a long plastic tube I can see, not something that appears to be on my unit.
Would anyone know the likely source or cause of the issue of water leak? And is this something that is repairable as a DIY thing to repair.
I had a plumber around and he quoted £700 to replace the whole unit including the digital processer unit. I have attached pictures for reference purposes. Thanks.
Just to add there is no leakage coming from the digital processor unit installed in the loft (above ceiling) itself.
Thanks.
Ajay
