I am replacing External French doors and side windows with a bi-fold door. Should be straightforward enough i'm thinking as im using the same width as the existing opening which has a lintel in place. The question I have is when I cut out the bricks below the side windows how do i deal with the cut face of the bricks ?. What is the standard practice ? Do you remove the cut bricks and turn them around with the manufactured face showing to creat a consistent looking ege ? or cover it with trim ?. I understand (and to match the other doors and windows) that the new frame sits on the back edge of the front brick ( brick/block cavity) or is it easier to mount the frame against the front edge of the brick so the cut is affectively hidden by the frame sealer ? photo's attached show the existing. I have the door supplier installing it but i need to prepare the opening for them beforehand.
Any help well appreciated, cheers, S
