Query Regards Flickering Neons On Wall Switches Etc.

Hi all,

At the moment we have a kitchen wall switch and an extension cable where the built neon tends to flicker.

We've had this happen in the past and thought nothing of it.

We assume this is pretty common and normal with no action necessary, is that correct ?

Yes..but…
I installed a couple of those LED jobbies, snd the LEDs still glowed a bit even when the switch was off.
And yes, the feed was on the correct side of the switch!!

LEDs need so little current that capacitive coupling from parallel conductors is enough to make them glow.
