What are the Consequences of putting liquid dish soap in a washing machine. I am just curious, my room mates had been using Dawn to wash their clothes. (I don't know why it seems kind of stupid to me) I didn't realize at first that they were using liquid dish soap to wash their clothes with. However, I became aware of it and then shortly afterwards my washing machine broke. It quite aggitating and started leaking water out into the floor everytime it was used. It was going to cost me to much to fix it so I had to buy a new one. My question is would using liquid dish soap have any negitive consequences helping to cause the breaking of my washing machine?
