Are you the tenant?
Did the CORGI take the cover off and fiddle about inside the boiler?
Did he look at the flue terminal outside?
Did he fiddle about with the gas meter? Is there a thick green wire on the gas pipe?
Did he notice that you dont have an isolating valve to turn off the gas to the hob?

no im not the tennant im the landlord or i will be as from next month yes he did take casing off because he serviced it but what im saying is hes notput the casing down flat at the bottom of the boiler its sticking out with gaps at the side

Most of them fit in a fairly sloppy way but the outer case doesn't hold the gas in exactly. Granted the guy should have left it right but I expect you can work out how it's supposed to fit. This is a gw compact 80e:
