Hi,
I'm laying my lawn tomorrow and have one question that needs answering.
My front garden is 5 meters long 6 metres wide at the top and 4 metres wide at the bottom. The width, top and bottom is 90 degrees to the right hand length, the left hand side of the length runs on a curve from top to bottom. Still with me ??
What i need to know is the best method to lay, i was told by a gardener to lay it horizontally and cut on the curves, Another gardener said to run the turf around the edges to make a "frame" and then to fill in running horizontally.
The latter makes sense when it comes to having a strong border with no thin pieces but cutting to fit the frame could be tricky.
Plus if i lay it horizontally the grass will lie the wrong way as i want the lawn to look longer by laying vertically, from front of house up to footpath as opposed to from drive to neighbours drive ?
Any ideas, tips or suggestions.
Regards

which ever way you lay it you will have cutting to do. I nevere bother with the frame method, providing you always use a 1/3 of a turf minimum for any cuts (ie if you come to an end and you have a small piece to infill, lay a third of the turf over the hole and the adjacent turf and cut them both one on top of each other, that way youll get a perfect join.)

it doesnt matter what direction you lay it, once its bedded down and taken and starts to grow, its dependent on what way you mow it for stripes etc to have any visual effect on the lawn.
