when routing fire doors, for the 10 mm intumescent door seals strip to sit in what size router bit do you use for a tight fit thanks in advance regards david

used 10 mm today woody and it seemed rather slack was thinking people used a 9 mm and tap it in with a mallet

It will expand to fit when there is a fire!

9mm might be too tight, and these only really need sticking in with the double side tape, and no need to waste time hammering them in

if you have a lot to do get a dedicated intumescent strip cutting bit, they are far quicker and there is no risk of the bit wandering or cutting over width.

do them now and again when the fire report on public houses have been done maybe 4 a year it just seems 10mm seems to big
