Hi Guys,
We have had a quote from a local flooring guy to replace the flooring in our breakfast room and he has suggested Quick-Step Lyvin Vinyl.
The sub floor is floorboards which are in pretty good condition for being over 100 years old, however, there are quite large gaps between the boards and some unevenness.
The fitter wants to just use Howdens XPS underlay (1.5mm thick) between the floorboards and the vinyl and says we won't need to ply out the floor first.
What little I know (and it isn't much) tells me that Vinyl in a high traffic area over uneven subfloor is going to 'flow'/'sink' into the gaps.
What do you think??
Thanks,
Nigel
