Quick way of reducing flow to tap - insert?

Hi,

Is there a quick and easy way of reducing flow to a tap without it making a horrid noise? I know the bad way of doing this is to adjust the valve leading into the tap, but I was wondering if there are any other mechanisms that are cheap and easy to install e.g. a plastic/metal insert that can go into a valve or fitting which reduces the diameter of the opening and thus helps reduce the flow to the outlet?

My tap does not support such a device on the aerator, and I really only want to reduce flow on the cold side.

If you have any ideas I would appreciate it.

what about the flow regulator inserts on this site? http://www.robertpearson.co.uk/products/water-flow-regulators/

They seem to fit into regular valves making them a cheap option?

Normally the iso valve can be used to slightly reduce the flow rate.

But if this creates too much noise then it sounds as if your supply pressure is too high.

If that is suspected then measure it and if over 3 bar then fit a whole house PRV of an appropriate size. 2 to 3 bar is adequate for supplies to taps.
