Hello there,

I hope someone can give me some advice. We are about to purchase a small 2 up 2 down victorian terrace house. Unfortunately its heating system compromises of a coal fueled Park Ray and a lagged hot water cylinder upstairs. It does have radiators with thermostats in all the rooms bar two. The other problem is that the house doesnt have Gas on mains, so Transco need to plumb it in. Also, our kitchen has had an extension on it and I have been told the floor is solid concrete. Can some one give me advice and a ball park on:

1. Getting gas mains into house
2. Decommissioning the Park Ray and removing the hot water tank
3. Installing a combi boiler and adding 2 new rads too.

I'm based in Bristol by the way.

Thanks in advance!

Ruthie x

These numbers have no connection with your question numbers:

1. Think hard before having a combi. They have disadvantages as well as advantages.

2. You could keep your existing system and add a boiler to provide the heat when the Parkray isn't on.

3. With solid fuel and gas you have alternative heating methods if your boiler packs up in the middle of winter.
