My boiler/radiators were being flushed. Some sort of pump was being used. The hose came off the pump and sprayed stuff all over the place, in particular inside the airing cupboard and on the carpet nearby. The smell is pretty strong. Are there any health implications for the vapour from this stuff ? It was mostly cleaned up ( I wasn't there ), but I think my eyes and nose are getting irritated by the smell.

Unlikely to be a result of the chemical itself as it is probably a micture of phosphoric acid (as in various Cola drinks) and citric acid.

It's possibly a gas given off by a reaction. If it's on carpets a carpet cleaner may help, otherwise try washing the affected area with washing soda.
