I am in the process of replacing a radiator and moving its location slightly. I intend to fit new valves amd extend/modify the pipework (8mm)using end feed connectors. I have a rubber bung kit and propose using this to avoid draining the system, but will the residual water in the pipework cause me any problems with soldering? Grateful for any advice.

Yes, you will be there all night if there is water in the pipe.
Have you a wet and dry vac to suck out the water
