I am unable to bleed 3 of my convector radiators downstairs because they are not the conventional square valves that you bleed with a normal key but they are a type where you need a flat headed screwdriver to turn & that allows a small trickle of water to pass from a rotating valve oulet. The problem I have is that the thread has gone on the top of the screw head so I cannot get the screw to actually budge to bleed any of the rads.I have tried everything to release the screw but all im doing is wearing away the brass head to get any grip with the screwdriver. Please advise on what i can do as the downstairs of the house is freezing! The only brand name I can find on the end of the radiator is DD ?which dosen,t mean anything to me either.
Please help!!!!!!!!

Can you use a long pair of pliers, once removed cut a new slot with a hacksaw.

Many thanks Andy, that did the trick! The furthest rads away from the boiler are still luke warm, would ya think that means I may need a new pump?

No I think it needs balancing.
If you turn the valves down on the closest radiators and turn them up on the furthest away radiators they should all be get the same temperature.
