Hi, just a quick query. I'm planning on putting a small single panel radiator in our kitchen. There was one before but it was removed years ago and the pipes above ground are capped. Will it matter if I put the thermostatic valve on either, or does it need to be on the flow? I don't know what the flow is, it could be either side as the pipes are horizontal and not vertically coming out of the floor!

Thanks for any help

Most TRV's are either direction these days, and most are marked accordingly....but I feel they do perform better on the flow - certainly they may be quieter!
Perhaps you can trace the pipes back to the main circuit, and feel which gets hot first?
John :)

thanks for your help

I've looked at the trv's are all on the right hand side on the other's and the bottom pipe is the one that will go to the furthest point (right hand side), so i'll put it on that side :)

Put a couple of old lock sheilds on to start with, the first feed pipe to get hot will be ya flow ;) thats where your TRV will go.
