Hi,

This is my radiator in my bathroom. I want to change it to a towel rail. As a chippy I’ve done fair bit of plumbing but want advice on changing this.

What would be the best pipe lay out? It’s a 500 rad getting changed to a 500 towel rail. I know the tails come underneath. Could I put a 45 elbow on and go off that? Or would that look rubbish?

Thank you for your help!

Easier for you to go up to 600mm wide towel rad,
your 500mm rad will have pipe centres of approx 580mm,
a 600mm towel warmer will be anything between 550mm and 570mm centres.

And it will not heat the bathroom much.

By the looks of the pipes, would you say that’s a 8mm or 10 mm pipe

Hard to tell from your pic. If you have an adjustable spanner ,close it onto the pipe and measure between the jaws of the spanner.
