I’ve done a search on this and suspect it might be a soffit/gutter problem but not sure how to solve.
During periods of prolonged heavy rain we get water start to drip from plastered area just where the frame and window “alcove” meet above the window on the inside. This like most houses is recessed and about 12” below the internal ceiling.
Some years ago we had upvc overboarded soffit and facias but the problem has only just started to present.
Is there likely to be something failed allowing water somehow to get to this area, into the cavity or could it simply be sealant along the outer top window frame deteriorated.
Getting anyone to come out and look is impossible, no one wants to know unless they can sell you £3k of new facias!
Can anyone steer me towards solving it
Many thanks
