Does anyone have any experience installing rain water reclamation tanks/systems?

I am considering getting a similar system installed to serve the WC's and outside taps only as we are currenly on a water meter. There is going to be a complete new plumbing system installed. Does the internal copper pipework need to be labeled as 'non-potable' (or even need to be a different colour) to identify it against the normal mains supply?

Thanks

There are good savings to be achieved by rain water harvesting.

Its funny but the water companies dont tell you about it or give ideas on their web sites!

As long as mains and non potable water dont mix then you dont have to do anything special. Labelling the outside tap "non potable" would be a good idea but I dont remember anything in the Water Regs saying you have to do that.

pretty sure you do have to lable the pipework, in case of future alterations to pipework.theres no confusion of tapping into the wrong pipe.if it aint mandatory id definetly do it as a precaution.saw one hooked up to an unvented cylinder once, stupid setup on a newish housing estate. took me while to get my head around the mess, cause i was shocked at the setup.

Thanks, think i'll just ask for it to be marked with tape every 0.5m or so, that'll do it.

No experience installing them but I serviced the ones manufactured by "stormsaver" in a few of the local schools the only difference in pipework I have seen is that the pipe work from the rainwater storage tank to the CWS tank has been in black alkathene where as the mains water has been in blue to same tank I don't know if this is regulation though probably more to do with identification for ease of install as the water from both sources ends up in the same tank and the therefore same pipework afterwards so treat any outlets the same as you would any "tank fed"
labeling the tap non potable will do no harm and is probably a very good idea

Blue pipe is required for potable water.

Black is no longer permissible and may be cheaper.

The Water Regs apply tp pipes and storage of potable water.
