Hi, I have three bedrooms in a bungalow where the bedroom floors are now about 20mm below the floor level in the hallway. the hallway was recently tiled which has caused the drop. all rooms have a concrete floor that's in good condition. im looking at the best way to raise the floors in these rooms by 10mm as the carpet and thick underlay that I have chosen will bridge the difference. im thinking of laying down 10mm cement/tile backer boards and then the carpet underlay and carpet on top. Do you have any thoughts on this approach? if it's viable, how do I secure the boards to the concrete? Can I glue them down or screw them or leave them without any adhesive and just tape up the joints. Thanks
