Hi all,
I bought a home that has had a double storey side extension done. Upstairs where the extension meets the rest of the house, there is a drop in floor height. The old owner tried to prop it up using insulation boards, but with laminate flooring installed on top of that, it's started to sag in places and feels spongy.
What are my options to raise the level correctly and easily myself? Is it better to sister the joists and raise the existing floorboards or add another layer of plywood on top of the existing floorboards to make up the height? Or other options? I am a bit of a beginner with DIY, but happy to give it a shot.
