I have recently converted half my internal garage in to a utility room.
The garage floor was 7 inches lower than the adjoining kitchen. I have used treated timber and made a timber frame on top of DPC. With insulation in between the joists. Then used 18mm tongue and groove boards. This i thought was ok as i was only thinking about putting lino or laminate down. But now i have been informed by "the war office" that she wants tiles matching the ones in the kitchen. Being as this is a floating floor with chipboard boards. I think this now cause a problem, as i have read on here is not advisable to tile on such a floor.
Please help
