OK I've read lots of thread on here about installing additional loft insulation and raising the height of the joist with cross battens.
I'm going to lay an additional 200mm insulation at right angles to the existing insulation. currently there is about a two metre square area that is boarded which i want to re board once I've finished insulating. Now my logic tells me I need to put in 200mm joists across the existing ones and then board on top so not to compress the insulation, is the correct? Also How do I connect 200 mm joists securely to the existing ones?
