Hello

I've moved into a 1920 end terrace property and for some reason the back door, and short adjoining corridor are approximatly 1 brick lower than the rest of the ground floor, which is below the DPC. I step down into the corridor from the Kitchen, and back up to the area under the staircase.

I would like to raise the back door and level the corridor. This is what I am planning to do:
Removing the door and frame, acro-propping whilst removing the existing lintel and a row of bricks, then installing a new lintel with a 150 mm overlap at each end. Then on the bottom of the frame, re-installing the row of engineering bricks and a very small section of DPC. DPC the corridor and fill with a concrete mix?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Phil

sounds like you know what you are doing . make sure you have enough headroom under staircase(2m) and use a screed mix of 4 parts sharp sand 1 part cement for floor rather than concrete
