I have a very very old Randall 103 timer switch that doesn't work anymore.

It's got about five wires coming out of it. One that goes straight to the central heating pump, another to the boiler, another to an on/off switch and another that feeds the electricity. There's one more wire that disappears upwards and must travel towards thermostat in the hall.

Anyway, it doesn't work and even if it did it doesn't seem very user friendly.

How easy is it to replace? I've found this website:

Which sort of suggests that it might be a simple replacement of the existing timer.

Any ideas? It can't be too difficult can it?

Simon.

Either of the two digital models shown will fit straight onto your existing back plate with no wiring alterations . Clock is held in place by one screw underneath on the right hand side(small electricians req) once this is un done just push clock sharply upwards to dis-engage pins . all in all will take 5mins

Can sell you either, unused for £20. I have an electronic one which is new but has a few scratches on the front; enables timing to be different at weekends. They cost silly amounts from merchants.
