Ravenheat 820 Diverter Valve

Hi folks,

The diverter valve is playing up on my Ravenheat 820 boiler. What I want to know is can I just replace this with a standard valve?

My plumber mate told me to look on screwfix. They have one

but I dont know if its compatible. It seems a lot more reasonable cost than the price quoted by the plumbing shop.

Can anyone help? Also, does anyone have the manuals on a pdf for my boiler? I would really appreciate it.

Cheers for that. Thats a big difference compared to the £165 + vat that the boiler man quoted!

Is there any real difference between a Giannoni valve and the 'proper' Ravenheat one?

Perhaps this boiler man was going to install it for you?

Its a nasty job to change and can easily take 1.5 hours.

Nah. He wanted an extra £100 to fit it as well.

I would have paid that but I had a feeling he was ripping me on the part.

Perhaps he has found as I have, that "compatible" parts don't always fit.

Being corgi myself I cant fit anything but the manufacturers parts as I would create an 'ad hoc installion'

You wanted a cheaper alternative. I gave you one.
Its your boiler and you can do more or less what you like with it. Also bearing in mind that this is a DIY forum
