I'd hung up some coat hooks and my son proceeded to tear one off the wall, pulling the plaster and rawl plugs off with it.

It's left a bit of a hole...any advice on how best to fill it so we could reattach the coat hook in the same place? Can you use rawl plugs in certain types of polyfilla?

Screw some wood to wall then screw hooks to that.

Fill hole with poly filler. Dill new holes.
Maybe a few blobs of stixall behind the wood along with screws.
That will hold anything.

Yeah you can plug poly filler

What is behind the plaster?

You are optimistic to hope that plaster will take much weight. Polyfilla even more so.

What type of coats hook , ?millions of types and dozens of fixing methods possible .

If the hooks are fixed into the brickwork behind then they will not come off with someone just yanking it. You can stand on those things.
I agree with Wayner's suggestion above, screw a piece of wood to the wall and then hang the hooks off of that.
