I want to install a gas powered Rayburn into my kitchen which will heat my water. I live in a small 2 bed cottage, and the current hot water/heating arrangement is a Vailant combi. How big a job is it to shift the hot water to the rayburn? Can I keep my Vailant for central heating only?

Cheers in anticipation.

Frimly it is a pretty major job Im afraid. The Rayburn will cost you £3600 plus, or you can get a reconditioned one for around £2500, but its the pipework and central heating boiler configuration that will cause the grief. Im a CORGI registered installer, and Ive only done a handful of these because - frankly - no-one wants to touch them. Suggest you ask other posters on this site for their views.

Good luck Frimly!!
