Evening I have a garden water feature. The main box is an rcd type. Will I require a seperate plug-in rcd protector?

What i'm asking is; Will it be safe enough or should I buy one for the extra safety.

Your 'main box'? I assume you mean your consumer unit / fuse board?

What is written on the RCD in this board?

If it is a 30mA type, then you are adequately protected.

It is not uncommon to see bodge-sparks fit 30mA RCD incommer CU's. It isn't dangerous, it is 'just far to over-protecting'.

I lose count of the number of customers I visit with RCD incomers, who, when I tell them they are NTCS, express great surprise because "it was only fitted a few years ago".

And I find loads of installs where a board has been changed but water not bonded. Gas is invariably easier to connect to than water so has been done.

Cowboys the lot of 'em!

Rant over...
