? RCD problem

Hi Guys
I have an electrical problem, my RCD tripped out and will not reset. I have unplugged everything and checked most of my sockets etc I am beginning to think the problem is with the actual RCD, how can I check?

Have you turned off all the mcb's?

Do so, then try to resent the rcd. If the rcd resets, then one by one bring on the mcb's. if one kicks the rcd out, you then have a clue to what circuit is causing the problem.

Have you done anything DIY recently? Shelves, screws, nails etc..

Have turned off all MCB's and RCD will not reset or even click in

Have you pressed the RCD all the way down before pushing it up to reset it. ?
