Hope somebody can help.

Just moved house. It has a double ended bath with the bath tap on the side against the wall. The tap is not connected to the bath and can be lifted up a couple of inches. Looks like the mounting plate and threaded stud have come loose and fallen out. So, I either need to remove the tiles, cabinets & bath or cut a hole through a solid wall to give access from room behind. Unless anybody has any other ideas. Can I stick it somehow?

Thanks
Ian

Does the bath have an end panel that will allow access? If not, it is a bath out jobby!

You could try seal it with silicon, but this is unlikely to be a longstanding or secure fix.

Worth a try?
1. Remove bath front panel.
2. Retrieve old stud, horseshoe, rubber washer and nut. Or buy a new set to match old.
3. Make up / bodge together monobloc tap spanner and long extension. Long enough to match depth of bath.
4. Stick rubber washer to horseshoe with double sided tape
5. Assemble rubber washer, horseshoe and nut on stud.
6. Drop weighted string through bath hole, and retrieve other end.
7. Tie string to stud and use to guide stud through bath hole and wangle horseshoe and rubber washer into place around pipes.
8. Use long nose pliers to screw stud into base of tap as far as possible.
9. Remove string.
10. Use spanner to tighten nut reaching under bath.

Tried with mirrors and long tools, but couldnt see anything.
Ended up knocking a hole in the wall from the bedroom and attaching the taps through the hole.

Thanks for all the suggestions
