Perfectly fair price IMHO, one of my mates paid £880 over 10 years ago for the same job, mind you it was Christmas eve :)

....... £400 including the cylinder .........

Cheap, I'd charge loads more than that, several things will go wrong.

People pay more than that to insure a car for a year and yet moan at paying £400.00 for something which is ready for use 24/7 and if decent qaulity cylinder last 10 years or more,

What the oldest cylinder have you replaced or heard of? Mine is coming up to 23 years old, would it be a good idea to replace it or wait until it goes wrong?

If people want ME to change a cylinder, I don't want to do it for less than lots. You do it cheap if you like. Bl**dy thing can take all day.

with all the bollocckks of draining heating, re inhibitor air locks boiler will overheat so will go on a mardy because air vent seized and it saw a toolbag from across the room and frightened it, working on BG rates to fix the mardy boiler afterwards "of course you cant get spares so will need replaceing" probably run out to about £3500.00, better say £4000.00 to cover yourself oh better add on £300.0 for council to inspect the immersion heater cable when you have finished
