I had to remove the semi Ped to change the old tap.
The ped has a single hole in the bottom. The hanging nut is attached to a wire that's clamped to the top of the underside of sink.

It's impossible to align the nut with the bolt. Tried thin cord but still can not do it.

Does anyone have tip to do this? I'm flummoxed!

Attached two pics.

Not surprised :!:.

When they were originally installed the hanging nut had a temporary guidance rod attached to the threaded rod,bet you aint got the rod :?:

You may be able to remove the securing nut from the threaded stud and connect the threaded stud to the wire clamp block, then dangle it and hope it pops out the pedestal securing hole.
Iirc them pedestals although small they weigh a flipping ton (n)

Dear Hot&Fit,

Great reply thanks.
You are right saying how heavy they are.
Of course plumber didn’t leave the guidance rod.

Just managed to unscrew left side of cable under sink, part insert bolt, wedge on books then re-tighten cable. Next time I’ll improvise that rod.

Sincere thanks

Peter
