Hi, just wanted to ask how difficult it was to refit a newly laid carpet if I wanted to run a length of speaker cable under it? I know of these carpet knee hitting tools but not sure if I can do this myself of I should get a pro in?
A newly laid carpet is still stretchy and will take skill and a knee-kicker (or more skill and jumping on it) to put back on your smoothedge without ripples.
An old carpet is much easier because it has taken up the shape of the room and will often flop back or can be pushed back by swiping it with the palm of your hand.
If it is just speaker cable you might to be able to poke it into the gap between the smoothedge and the skirting without lifting the carpet off the spikes.
