There is no point in repairing the existing holes - the repair plates use more screws than the original hinges, and they are in different placesDo the holes need to be repaired to clamp the plate in, or does the plate take the place of the holes so the screws are fixed to the plate?
As @foxhole says, how on earth do you get a bolt through a door with a mirror on the outside (assuming the mirror glass is bonded on)? IMHO such a repair would look absolutely terrible assuming you could do it! Remember - you only have 18mm of MDF to play with and MDF isn't that strongWouldnt it be better to bolt them, as the door is heavy?
