re occurant blocked drain

We moved in to a house in april, and since then the drains have been blocking every week or so. We have proffesional drain rods from our landlord so we can deal with it, but it keeps happening. We can get 3 rods deep before it goes off to the sewer and main pipe. They are building next dor - is it possible that they have damaged part of the sewer with the heavy machinery?
We dont put anything that we shouldnt down the loo at all, as we know how bad the drain gets, so we arnt using anything which would block it, and we know it isnt fat or anything from the kitchen,as this goes out free flowing on to the building site at the moment (yes really!), where they have disconnected the pipe from the drain.
Any idea what it could be?

It's possible, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

That's appalling. An anonymous tip-off to you local environmental health officer would sort that out.

I'm afraid you're being taken advantage of. No landlord should be issuing tenants with drain rods!

I would ask the landlord to engage someone to sort out the drain problem permanently.

one way to find out if its damaged is to get the landlord to get a company that is able to put a camera down it.
