Re-pointing lead/brick

Afternoon all,

I've just moved into a new house and noticed that the mortar has fallen away from the lead/brick. Guessing this must have been an issue for a while as it looks like damp on the wall thats been patched.

What would be the best course of action? I was going to putt a few hall clips in and then rather A)Use something like lead mate or B) Use Mortar.

Now if I decide to use mortar to i use a traditional knock up or do I use a lime mortar as most of the pointing is lime.

Lead works every time.. Joint it in with lime mortar

why not post a pic of the wall that was/is damp, and has been patched?

fwiw:Theres a Bressummer beam lintelling the bay opening - have a quick look at that? Is it level - no distortions in the decorations?

Thats the wrong way to flash those slates (one's broken, by the way).
Great care must be taken working above those slates - how do you propose to point-up the flashing?
That looks like a recent window sill, and no throating can be seen - neither does the sill project far enough out.

I presume the flashing runs under the top hip caps?
Have the hip caps been set in mortar?
