Hi ... fed up of laminate. Already have a level chipboard subfloor. I m not thinking big thick structural floor boards more a sort of tongue n grooved, thin wood. Obviously not too soft or it would not take daily life, but as just me, mostly barefoot n no big heels etc, i m thinking it cant be any worse than laminate which is basically pressed cardboard. Im quite handy.. and thoughts or tips welcome x ta xx

Wood can be a nightmare. Gets damaged and water stains

Moduleo LayRed? Vinyl click fit boards. Built in underlay.

Wood is always better than laminate.
Mine lasted almost 20 years before I had to sand it and revarnish.
Mind you, I use my house, so on ground floor I walk with shoes on.
I'm of the opinion that the house must serve me, not the other way around.
Advice?
Remove skirting so you can have a neat finish without trims.
Lay planks along shortest length to make room look bigger (exceptions apply)
Trim under door lining.
Let wood acclimatise in the room for 6/8 weeks before fitting.
Engineered wood is less prone to warping and stretching.
Use a good D4 glue.
