...How much should an acrylic bath move? I've just fitted one, screwed it into the wall with the two mounting brackets provided and screwed the 5 feet to the floor, but when I stand in it to test it it moves slightly. Not loads, but I'm not sure how much it should move. You can see it coming away from the wall by about 2mm at the tap end.

Thanks,
Ex.

This may be too late but ideally you should fix the bath against the walls with silicone. Give a couple of days to cure before use and it wont move much at all. And just because the feet are screwed to the floor, does this mean the floor has no give?

Hi gday2uk and thanks for the responce. I've done it now though. I did know about filling the bath before sealing, I was just slightly worried about the movement when empty. I'm sure, as you say it'll be fine when it's all cured.

There is a little give in the floorboards, yes. This is OK? Had a LOT of trouble with this bathroom and half expected to find the bath in the kitchen this morning!

If there is any give in the floorboards, then you should have fitted something to spread the load across the surface - like a sheet of 18mm ply or two 3x2 or similar timbers

Well, I was actually going to do that but I was assured that, having fitted a replacement floorboard, I wouldn't need to. As far as I could see the new board only moved a fraction of a mm and that was when the bath was full upto the overflow. We'll only be using it for showers and the odd shallow bath so will this cause a problem?
