Rear extension from old coal house?

Morning everyone


Been searching for this but unable to find a clear answer,

Our house is a 1920s house and at the rear it has a 1 meter old coal house protruding, now this is the room used for the boiler etc

Do the 3 meter rules apply to this?

As in can our extension go 3 meter out from the old coal house? This would then mean our extension is 4 meter from the rest of the rear of the house?

To clarify the coal house is original, same brickwork etc.

The coal house is part of the original house, so you can go 3m out from the coal house or 3m out from the main house but .... the coal house creates a side wall (a side extension) so extending out from the main house all the way across would be greater than 50% of the width of the house so needs permission.
