hi there i have a corsa 2003 have replaced the rear wiper motor and stork as it keeps sticking and wont return to park, but has not solved the problem, could anyone tell me where the relay for this is located, any answers would be appreciated
sorry just getting back to you but thanks for the reply, had it in at vauxhall nov/dec they said it was the motor which they qouted £165 went onto the internet managed to get one for £45 off autoparts a friend fitted it but still the same prob replaced the stork as well, its been back to vauxhall they again say its the motor, not the relay something to do with the timer in the motor, so to be honest i am at a loss now, look like when i get the money together will have to get to get a new motor after all, just funny that both motors are doing the same thing, the i bought was tested as well
Interesting to see your problem, I had same problem but with a ford escort estate. I eventually realised it was the cantact micro switch which only allowed wiper to work when tailgate was closed. The contact was dirty. Cleaned it and works fine now. I was just about to let garage replace motor, I dont go there no more
Im no mechanic and not a clue about your corsa, but thought I'd pass on my experience just incase..
Do relays stick intermittently I always assumed they either worked, or were dead.
Good luck.
thanks for your reply confidentincompetent well to be honest i dont know much about cars, but what i do know, through being ripped off in the past , i just grudge paying out £165, it does work but havt to keep switching it on and off several times before it parks, other wise just stops anywhere, just gets really annoying, i know its a stupid question coz us woman no nothing about cars, where would the contact micro switch be
Hi polly. I think I know less than you so blind leading blind here
The micro switch Is similar to when you open a car door and the interior light switches on. On my escort it is a three pronged affair of which one of theses prongs supply the power to rear wiper so if the hatch is open the wiper wont work. It was this probe and contact which was dirty and a little rub over with wire wool made a good contact. It will still stick once in a while but if im too lazy to clean it, goin over a speed hump sometimes makes it work
Sorry! I have to say I dont know wheter this is the same on a corsa or if you even have a micro switch. perhaps the tech guys in here will know. But basicly look for a switch that will depress when hatch closes against it.(Like that button in a fridge if you press it the light goes out)
