Want to get an idea of what a garden landscaping job like this would cost as my mums been quoted £8.8k with VAT and think it’s steep. What are ballpark figures to expect for jobs like this?

Located in midlands

Job description:
Clear away those slabs, and rockery up to where that line is on the photo and add in a retaining wall with steps then replace the slabs with sandstone pavers then add some slabs up to the shed in the garden. Finished project would be similar to the other photo added. Company that quoted offered to reuse stones in rockery to bring down the quote.

Breakdown of existing quote:
- To take up the rockery stones and save these on site for the new walls.
- Dig back the area to create a patio width of 2.7m from the house, removing the waste from site in grab lorries.
- Take up the slabs at the back of the and up to the gate and Lay a compacted base in the areas for the new patio.
- Build a wall with pointed joints using the rockery stones saved on site.
- Build steps up to the top level using rockery stones and sandstone paving.
- Lay a new 900mm wide path from the top of the steps to the paved area near the shed.
- Lay natural sandstone paving in 4 sizes on the lower level, leaving a gravel channel for drainage against the house.
- All paving to be laid onto a full wet concrete bed of washed sand and cement and the joints pointed with resin pointing compound.

Thank you!
