Hi,
I need to receipt printer that will work from a standard run of the mill laptop, and some software, I'm assuming I can't type a receipt up on Microsoft word an press print? I'm kind of new to all this so any help or pointing in the right direction would be great.

Thanks

Well you could do exactly that if you want to. You could go one step further and make a template in Word so that you only have to fill in the relevant fields but you will need to be fairly familiar with formatting in Word to do that. Otherwise, just type one out and print.

Hi,
I've bought a thermal printer from eBay, with 59mm role, can I print a receipt from word onto the thermal printer, I need to look like a till receipt.

Thanks

Should be able to provided you have correct printer driver.

They're Epson commands for used with point of sale systems and as well as sending formatting instructions to printers can actuate the paper cutter, open cash drawers, etc.

Ideally there will be a Windows printer driver for the printer you have. Make and model number?

Or use the Microsoft Generic Text Only printer driver and if necessary add some escape codes to the properties box, as described here

The exact codes will depend on your printer (and possibly what emulation your printer has been set to).
