We need to install a Sangamo 2 module din mounted time switch flush with the wall. This is to control some outside lights to come on at dusk and go off at midnight. Sangamo have already pre-programmed the time switch.
Unfortunately the time switch needs to go in an entrance lobby adjacent to the exiting supply that feeds the outside lights via SWA. There is no easy way to locate the time switch adjacent to the distribution board without a considerable rewire.
I am therefore looking for a two module steel box, with a din rail (preferably with a cover) which will house the time switch and can be chased in flush into the block work. I know there are some distribution board that can be installed flush with the plaster but cannot find any two module versions. the closest I can find is this at CEF but this is supposed to be surface mounted and only single module. This is a better design as it has a cover over the modules deterring tampering but is too big. Our electricians are finding it difficult to source what we need. Does anyone have any ideas on a metal clad recessed box with a din rail?

Thanks 333rocky333,
I have found this on a Chinese website for about $2.33 plus $11.24 delivery. Unfortunately its ABS rather than steel clad, however it is designed for plaster recess and it does have a cover which is good. If I can't find anything else suitable and the Stainless jobbie that Bernard has suggested is unaffordable it might well be a solution.
Many thanks

It's not made of metal though. Does it comply with British safety standards?

Or you could buy it from the UK, and probably get it a lot quicker. And then (hopefully) no worries with BS conformity

I don't see any indication that that one conforms with any standards either. Some of their other products look like Chinese rip-offs of Schneider.

They are probably the exact same item. Some of their MCBs look downright sketchy. However, it's gonna be a lot easier to get them on the phone than the chinese distributor to find out

This might be suitable.

with a bit of cutting ( stainless steel ) to create the aperture in the front plate
Thanks Bernard,
That looks like it might do the job but is probably horrendously expensive. I will contact company and get a price. Being stainless it will be very robust.

Most things are, from Electrix. They mske some lovely polished stainless conduit and fittings though....if you are into that sort of thing.....

No, they're a rip-off. Very similar part number but very unlikely to use the same materials as the genuine items. These copiers just take a decent product apart and copy all the parts, including the type approval markings.

I believe Schneider, or Telemec as was, sold the moulds for a lot of their switchgear to a chinese manufacturer some time ago. Which sounds pretty irresponsible now....

Apologies, you misunderstand. I meant, it's probably the exact same item listed on AliExpress as the website I linked to. I am not questioning that they're knock offs of reputable gear, they most likely are.

Whoaa Guys let not start a flaming war in an attempt to help me .
I almost certainly would have sourced from the UK but when searching for the item I couldn't find it in the UK. I went to the Schneider website and was inundated with catalogues for all of there equipment and didn't know where to start so searched for Schneider TSM-4Ways and the AliExpress was one of the websites that returned a result. Thanks to Lggifer for linking to a UK supplier.

As far as I am aware many consumer units are infact UPVC or similar material e.g. MEM, Wylex etc etc(probably made under licence in the far east!!). This is not a problem if used in the correct location.
I was looking for a metal clad box or more importantly metal lid and cover because of the location it is to be installed in. To be honest if buried and plastered into the wall, mechanical strength is not really an issue. Again whilst I would always source certified equipment, in this case it is only a passive enclosure with a din rail. I am not installing Chinese or other knockoff MCB's/Switchger but a Sangamo time switch.
Thanks all for your input on this. I think I will call in to a CEF, Medlocks or Edmundson branch and ask them to try and find a suitable enclosure
